Winter coat


After the success of last week's bird bag and the pleasure it gave me, I thought I'd reward my sewing machine with a new winter coat. So I roughly traced around the supremely unattractive plastic one she arrived at my front door in 10 years ago and had a crack.


No complaints so far, which is why I like making things for inanimate objects. She's even got linen lining, so she's feeling rather smug and very smooth. Luckily, she's a bit short sighted like myself so hasn't noticed the rather rough seams.

I figure I'll get round to fixing those in the next 10 years or so. Rushing can be so overrated.

    It's lovely. I've got a hard cover on mine, but I've been thinking of replacing it with a pretty sewn cover. Just don't know why I feel guilty about not using a perfectly adequate hard cover.

    Looks lovely - great fabrics. What's that saying about all good things taking time?! My sewing machine is now suffering from a serious case of "Cover Envy". Too bad, given that I have had my sewing machine for even longer than you, it's just not gonna happen! Stephie x

    Love that green fabric on the front! I should make something like that for my poor, battered old overlocker, which hasn't had a cover the whole time I've had it...

    Now that is so much better then the plastic cover on my machine - i feel the need to hide it because its ugly.

    Well thought of you! I had never thought about making a new coat for my sewing machine. I am sure that every stitch you have made is also very neat. Beautiful fabrics have you used. I admire you.
